DESCRIPTION:This international conference seeks to examine transnational tr
 ajectories of material culture and focuses on the various ways in which mob
 ility reshapes immaterial characteristics of artefacts. Due to Covid-19 the
  conference is held as an online event. Please register now.\n\nThe confere
 nce discusses the processes of disbanding material heritage from its origin
 al context and investigates the implications for the transformation of mean
 ings.  \n\nIntangible features of material culture are diverse and range fr
 om historical, cultural, political to legal and fiscal attributes. Transfer
 red artefacts are susceptible to change in many different respects and coul
 d eventually transform the narratives and politics of collective memory and
  identity they were intended to give evidence for. On the other hand, it is
  often characteristic for transferred artefacts to infuse other cultures wi
 th what is foreign to them and also have the propensity to influence percep
