DESCRIPTION:Event marking the launch of the IWE-HSG Competence Center for A
 frican Research (CCAR)\n\nThe CCAR launch symposium will be focusing on eth
 ics, technology and Africa. Particular emphasis will be put on the potentia
 ls and risks of Artificial Intelligence and new Information and Communicati
 on Technologies for the African continent. The symposium features keynote s
 peakers, roundtables, and discussants of various disciplines and aims at ki
 ck-starting a fruitful intercontinental discourse and network between schol
 ars in Switzerland and on the African Continent. The symposium will offer a
  platform for cutting-edge contributions particularly of young African rese
 archers and activists.\n\nThe CCAR would be delighted to welcome many inter
 ested participants of various backgrounds at the launch symposium.\n\nParti
 cipation is free, but advance registration is required due to space limitat
